Moral Courage Purrsonified

Each time a man stands up for an idea, or acts to improve the lot of others, or
strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and
crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring,
those
ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of
oppression
and resistance.

Few are willing to brave the disapproval
of their
fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their
society. Moral
courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or
greater intelligence. Yet
it is the one essential, vital quality for those
who seek to change a world that
yields most painfully to change.

Robert Kennedy

Teacher’s words

Hold fast to the truth: seek it always – in yourself and in others. Do not
compromise the truth when seeking the success as defined by society. The world
needs truthful people: to restore the balance of harmony, to be instruments of
peace, to provide healing of countries and individuals, to restore laughter and
joy. These attributes do not require academic accomplishment: they require moral
courage!

Anne Jeanette Joseph

For what it’s worth…

As I reflect on the recent (more like distant past, lol!) examination period, I
wonder… What should top our priority list – attaining a 90+ % aggregate or
perfecting our character? While academic achievement is undoubtedly important, I
feel that we very much neglect our moral obligations. We are too engrossed in
‘walking over’ people in an effort to reach the highest rung of the economic
ladder that we forget the very people (our parents, mentors, educators, and
friends) that helped us along the way.

Long Live MC!
